The Railroad Bridge is located in the borough of Hyndman, carrying CSXT track over Willis Creek. The existing interior sway bracing diagonal members will be removed, and other members will be strengthened or new members added to provide lateral support. All work will be completed within CSXT right-of-way with no earthwork required and the work will have no impact on the adjacent property owners, Wills Creek, or train operations.
Due to the snow emergency, the public meetings scheduled for National Gateway projects in Allegheny, Bedford and Somerset Counties have been cancelled. The meetings were to be held Tuesday, February 9 at the Quality Inn Conference Center in Somerset, Pennsylvania and Wednesday, February 10 at the University Club at Pitt in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. These meetings will be rescheduled and announced shortly.
